ALAMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - An 18-year-old male from Allegan County died after his pickup truck crashed into a tree along a road and then caught on fire in Kalamazoo County.
The teen was driving on Sixth Street near F Avenue in Alamo Township around 8:20 p.m. Monday when his vehicle went off the road and crashed, according to a news release.
The driver from Otsego was unable to escape the engulfed vehicle and died at the scene northwest of Kalamazoo, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department.
Police told 24 Hour News 8 Tuesday morning they have evidence that the victim intentionally intended to crash his vehicle.
Police are investigating a report of a home invasion, but say there are inconsistencies.
