MARENGO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A man and his nephew were arrested following an incident in which they allegedly assaulted each other.
The Calhoun County Sheriff's Department responded around 10:25 p.m. to a residence in the 19000 block of Michigan Avenue in Marengo Township.
A man called deputies and told them that he had been hit in the head with a metal object and the suspect was still at-large.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the 54-year-old suspect from Lansing hiding in some tall weeds behind a residence.
After further investigation, deputies learned the suspect was threatened with a gun by his nephew, a 53-year-old Marengo Township man, who was also the caller.
At the house, deputies found and seized two illegal handguns. Both men were taken in to custody.
The Marengo Township man will await arraignment on charges of felonious assault, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
The Lansing man will await arraignment on felonious assault charges.
