KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - The Kalamazoo Department of Public Services responded to a home in Kalamazoo Friday afternoon on a report of untreated water sewage seeping out from an easement.
The incident happened at around 3:15 p.m. at 415 Homecrest Avenue.
According to a news release, the easement was located behind the house. After an investigation, it was determined that the water was untreated raw sewage.
The sewage was released to the immediate area around the sanitary manhole.
The Department of Public Services removed the blockage and restored flow in the sewer Saturday afternoon. The amount of material discharged from the sewer is approximately 100 gallons.
