IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) - A strip club known for sparking controversy with its signs is at it again.
The sign for Shirley's strip club near Ionia Tuesday night read: "Now accepting Bridge Cards for lap dances."
Video of the sign is being passed around on social media. It was posted on 24 Hour News 8's Facebook page Wednesday.
The strip club's owner told 24 Hour News 8 he is just trying to raise awareness about Bridge Card misuse and that his establishment doesn't actually accept Bridge Cards.
He said he received hundreds of calls about the sign and told people to contact their local representatives to help fix the Bridge Card system.
The stunt comes on the heels of the state Senate passing a bill to stop Bridge Card holders from using them at strip clubs, liquor stores and race tracks.
