IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) - Sparrow Ionia Hospital will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Monday for the first new hospital in the mid-Michigan area in decades.
The facility will be built on M-66 just north of David Highway in Ionia.
The state-of-the-art critical access hospital will replace the current Sparrow Ionia Hospital., which was originally built in 1953.
It will be 63,00 square feet and have 22 beds.
A celebration and groundbreaking ceremony is set for 1 p.m. Monday.
