BOSTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A semi-truck driver suffered minor injuries when he swerved to miss some deer in the road and crashed his rig.
Charlie Sarrell Jr. was driving west along Portland Road near the intersection of Nash Highway in Boston Township Tuesday morning.
He told police he saw two deer cross the road in front of his vehicle, so he swerved to miss the animals.
But his rig went off the south side of the road and tipped onto its left side, according to a news release.
Sarrell, from Lansing, was temporarily trapped inside the truck.
Members of the Ionia County Sheriff's Office, Clarksville Fire Department, Life EMS and Michigan State Police responded around 8:53 a.m. to the scene south of Saranac.
Crews extricated Sarrell out of the truck.
The 62-year-old declined medical attention.
Holland police are searching for 28-year-old Mark Steven Randall Harris, who should be considered armed and dangerous.
