RONALD, Mich. (WOOD) - Five adults were arrested during a drug bust at an Ionia County residence where three children also lived.
State officials removed the kids -- all under the age of 8 including an infant -- from the home, which has now been condemned.
Members of the Central Michigan Enforcement Team led the bust around 3 p.m. Tuesday.
It began when a Michigan State Police trooper assisted Department of Human Services on a Children's Protective Services investigation. The trooper was methamphetamine-certified and noticed items in the house related to the drug. He secured the house, got a search warrant and contacted CMET.
Authorities found four separate "one pot" labs in an attached garage at 956 Woods Road, northeast of Orleans.
Authorities told 24 Hour News 8 that it is "unusual" to find that many labs.
Along with the labs, authorities located a hydrogen gas generator -- a bottle with a mix of acid and salt that creates an acid gas. When they moved the generator it started to release the gas.
Lonnis Eavey was arrested on four counts -- possession of meth, operating/maintaining a meth lab, operating/maintaining a meth lab involving a firearm, and operating/maintaining a drug house.
Justin Theis was arrested for possession of meth lab components.
Michelle Montague was arrested for possession of meth.
Kristy Cuttle was arrested for possession of meth, operating/maintaining a meth lab involving a firearm, and maintaining a drug house.
A fifth person was arrested for outstanding warrants.
