WEBBERVILLE, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say an 89-year old central Michigan man who drove the wrong way on Interstate 96 east of Lansing was killed when his car collided with a tractor-trailer.
The Lansing State Journal says the crash happened about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday on westbound I-96 near the Webberville exit.
Ingham County sheriff's Sgt. Robert Ott says the 89-year-old was dead at the scene, and the truck's driver was taken to Sparrow Hospital.
The crash closed the expressway's westbound lanes for several hours Wednesday.
The sheriff's department identifies the dead man as Lee C. Woodbury, who lived in Ionia County's Orleans Township.
