IONIA COUNTY, Mich. (WOOD) - One man is in critical condition and another was hospitalized after a rollover crash near the exit ramp from I-96 to Portland in Ionia County.
The crash apparently happened after the male drive of one eastbound car tried to pass another. The cars collided and both rolled down a steep embankment at the Exit 76 off-ramp.
The driver of one of the vehicles was pinned in his car. When first responders asked him questions, he did not respond. He was taken to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing with critical injuries.
The driver of the other car was also hospitalized.
Aero Med was called to respond, but refused. It was raining at the airport at the time.
The crash shut down Exit 76 to Kent Street for a while Monday night.
