BELDING, Mich. (WOOD) - The search for a missing 10-year-old boy in Belding focused on the Flat River Sunday morning.
Devon Morrison was last seen near Harrison Street and N. York Street near his home. His family said he left to go fishing in the nearby Flat River and has not been seen since.
Police told 24 Hour News 8 they found tennis shoes by a trestle near the river.
A Michigan State Police helicopter was brought in to aid in the search for Devon Sunday morning.
Belding authorities contacted local media around 10:30 p.m. Saturday. An Amber Alert had not been issued as of late Saturday evening.
"I'm terrified," his mother, Shauna Smith, told 24 Hour News 8.
Smith said Devon regularly goes fishing in the river on his own and has never disappeared for this length of time.
Devon was last seen wearing a black- and red-colored, hooded sweatshirt and black jeans, his mother said.
Police told 24 Hour News 8 they went door to door in Belding to look for Devon Sunday morning.
