GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A man linked to the Latrice Maze death investigation has been arraigned on charges unrelated to Maze's case.
On Monday morning, Gregory Shanklin was arraigned in the 61 st District Court on three weapons charges and a habitual offender charge.
Last week, 24 Hour News 8 uncovered Kent County court documents that linked Shanklin and Jahleel Hoskins, Maze's boyfriend, to her death investigation, but did not specify what that link was. As of Monday, neither man had been charged in connection to her case.
Maze, 26, went missing on March 19 near Burton Street and Division Avenue in Grand Rapids.
Last week, Grand Rapids police said that they were working under the assumption that Maze was no longer alive, but were continuing to investigate.
A family member also told 24 Hour News 8 that police had told them that they were investigating Maze's disappearance as a homicide.
Shanklin was arraigned on a $500,000 bond and is currently being held at the Kent County Jail.
