GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A man who showed up to a Grand Rapids-area hospital Sunday with a gunshot wound said he had been shot about 10 hours earlier at a northwest-side bar.
Grand Rapids police responded to calls of a fights and shots fired at Louie's Bar, located on Bridge Street NW, around 2 a.m. Sunday. But when officers got there, they didn't find a victim.
Around noon Sunday, a man walked into Metro Health Hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He claimed he was at Louie's Bar around 2 a.m. when he was shot.
The victim's injuries are not considered life-threatening.
He is cooperating with authorities.
