ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A 40-year-old Comstock Park man robbed a Chase Bank on Wednesdayafternoon and got away, but about an hour later called 911 andturned himself in.
He came to the bank, located at 4366 Alpine Ave., at around11:08 a.m. with a firearm in his waistband, demanding money with anote. Afterward, he fled on foot.
At around 12:20 p.m., he placed the call to 911 and confessed tothe robbery.
He told dispatchers: "I'm the one that robbed the bank and Iwanted to turn myself in."
That is all he had to say, said Lt. Kevin Kelley of the KentCounty Sheriff's Department.
The suspect's name has not been released. The sheriff'sdepartment is working with the FBI on the case.
