GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Grand Rapids Public Schools Board of Education member Senita Lenear has announced she will resign at the end of the month.
Lenear made the announcement at Monday evening's school board meeting. She said she is resigning to run for the 3rd Ward City Commission seat.
Lenear was first appointed to the school board in October 2007 to complete the term of another member. She was elected to the same spot in 2009 and her current term was set to end in December 2014.
She was elected board president in 2010.
The current president is Dr. Wendy Falb, who took over the board in January.
