GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The Grand Rapids Public Schools teacher accused of having sex with two students has been arrested.
Jamila Love Williams, 35, turned herself in around 6 p.m. Thursday and was booked into the Kent County jail.
Williams faces four charges of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. She allegedly had sex multiple times with two students, ages 15 and 16, between March 1 and June 1.
Parents and students first came to GRPS officials with allegations against Williams Monday. GRPS contacted Grand Rapids police, started an investigation and placed Williams on administrative leave.
According to her University Prep profile page, Williams has been a teacher at GRPS for six years and has worked at University Prep for four years. She has a master's degree in education. She has four children and two stepchildren between the ages of three and 19.
A man is in jail, allegedly connected to 14 burglaries that occurred in Cass County this month.
