GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A white man in his 30s is being sought for trying to kidnap an 11-year-old girl near Eastern and Hazen SE in Grand Rapids on Jan. 9.
In a release, police said the incident took place between 3:45 - 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The girl was walking alone when the man grabbed her and tried to pull her toward his truck. The girl struggled and broke away from the man and ran to a safe location.
She called the police immediately. She said she's never seen the man before and did not see him leave.
He's described as a white man in his 30s, about 5-foot-10, skinny, with brown or red sideburns. He was wearing a red winter hat with a bill that included an Arizona Cardinals logo and a black "bubble coat." She told police his fingernails were bitten to the nubm and he had a black tatoo of a guitar on one of his hands.
The tattoo, she said, had the neck of the guitar on a finger and the body of the guitar on his hand.
She described his truck as a dark blue, newer Dodge Ram.
