GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Grand Rapids Police need your help in finding a man they say tried to rip clothes off a 25-year-old woman Friday morning.
The incident happened sometime between 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. in the 2000 block of East Castle Dr SE Friday.
The 25-year-old woman was having vehicle trouble, so she parked her vehicle in a nearby lot. The suspect, driving by the area, offered the victim a ride, but she turned it down. The suspect walked up to the victim and tried to speak with her. The victim started to walk away from the suspect, but then the suspect physically assaulted her and attempted to remove her clothes.
The victim was able to get away from the suspect and ran to a safe location for help.
The suspect is described a black male, possibly in his 30s, 5'8" - 5'10" with a medium build, and a mustache and a closely trimmed beard. He was wearing a black short sleeve t-shirt, dark pants or jeans, and a dark baseball cap with a red "Polo" horse emblem on the front.
The suspect's vehicle is described as a black four-door car in decent condition and having a similar body style to a Mercury Sable or Ford Taurus.
