GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A 19-year-old bicyclist has died after being involving in a crash with a car, police say.
The victim has been identified as Brandon James Walker.
The crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Delaware Street SE in Grand Rapids.
The bicyclist was riding west on Delaware Street with two other bicyclists when all three entered Madison Avenue without stopping at the stop sign, according to a news release from the Grand Rapids Police Department.
Walker collided with a northbound car, police said, and the other two bicyclists rode away from the scene.
Walker was transported to a hospital in critical condition. He died Friday, GRPD said.
Police released the driver at the scene. Alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash.
