CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WOOD) - A Grand Rapids man has been arrested for a shooting at an Eaton County mall.
Jerry Blackwell Jr., 22, was arraigned on charges of assault with intent to murder and felony firearm on Wednesday, according to the Eaton County Sheriff's Office.
Blackwell is accused of shooting a man at the Lansing Mall in Delta Township on March 16. That man remains hospitalized but is improving, authorities say.
No bond was given.
Blackwell is expected back in court April 2.
Blackwell was already on probation following an Ingham County conviction for carrying a concealed weapon in 2010. That probation, which started May 4, 2011, would have run through May 4 of this year.
The shooting remains under investigation, according to the sheriff's office.
