YANKEE SPRINGS, Mich. (WOOD) - A health advisory is still in effect at a Barry County beach due to a slightly high E. coli level.
Officials will take another test on the water quality at the Main Beach (day use area) at Gun Lake in the Yankee Springs Recreation Area.
The beach and water are open to the public.
The Department of Environmental Quality website previously stated this beach and the Campground Beach, both south of Middleville, had been closed since Wednesday.
The source of the contamination is unknown.
The Main Beach was closed for 49 days between July and August 2012, one day in July 2011 and one day in August 2011.
The Campground Beach was closed for 20 days in July 2012, and five days in August 2012 for the same reason.
