FILLMORE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Two vehicles collided head-on Monday morning, resulting in one of the drivers dying and the other possibly facing charges.
The wreck occurred around 6 a.m. near 56th Street and 140th Avenue in Fillmore Township, south of Holland in Allegan County.
A Chevrolet Blazer was traveling north when the driver got distracted, causing the vehicle to cross the center line and strike a southbound Kia vehicle head-on, police told 24 Hour News 8 at the scene.
The male driver of the Kia died at the scene, police said.
The driver of the Blazer was transported to a hospital for treatment to minor injuries. Police said this driver was at-fault for causing the wreck and was distracted at the time but did not give a reason.
Authorities said speed, alcohol and fog were not factors.
This was one of three accidents that occurred in the area at the time.
Thirty-three-year-old Ronald T. Smith II was grew up in Warren.
