DORR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A bright, setting sun may have been a factor in a fatal accident in Allegan County Thursday.
A motorcyclist was traveling west on 142nd Avenue and approaching the intersection of 26th Street in Dorr Township, police said.
The driver of a southbound SUV was stopped at the intersection, and then pulled out in front of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision, according to a news release.
Several people tried to provide medical treatment to the motorcyclist, 42-year-old Ben Johnson from Dorr, but he died at the scene west of Wayland.
The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries.
Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors, police said.
Fred Glespie was found not guilty in the death of three children who died in an apartment fire.
Police are looking for the suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at a gas station in Plainwell Thursday night.
The rink will be open that day from 3-9 p.m.
