ALLENDALE, Mich. (WOOD) - Marne's Sherry Evans got some unexpected criticism at the early March "Ready NOW!" event.
"We were in a branding meeting, and the facilitator told me personally when I saw her after that if she were to see me in an interview, that the first thing she would think is that I look dated with my hair," said Evans.
She said she has taken the advice to heart.
"I've decided that I'm cutting my hair up to here -- chin length. Because she felt my hair style was outdated and not conducive for finding a job," she said.
Susan Fleming, the career coach who gave Evans that advice, was on Daybreak Thursday morning to talk about personal branding. She talked about what appearance and behavior says about a candidate.
