Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOODTV) - ArtPrize and Spotlight616 have joined forces to bring a new twist to ArtPrize this year. Fashion is now joining the world renowned competition. ArtPrize Fashion Force Challenge is a designer driven competition that will shed light on promising designers on the Grand Rapids fashion scene.
ArtPrize is on the hunt for one talented designer to represent ArtPrize as the official 2012 Fashion Force Ambassador. The winner of Fashion Force will compete at Style Battle in September to represent ArtPrize. The winning designer will be awarded a $500 stipend to create their new designs, as well as an opportunity for a limited edition merchandise collection to be featured in the ArtPrize Retail store.
Thirteen designers will compete in the ArtPrize Fashion Force Challenge. Each designer will have one month to create their original eye catching piece with $100 worth of ArtPrize Store merchandise. All of the designs will debut on the runway in front of a live audience and panel of ArtPrize appointed judges on July 25, 2012 at the Monte's Lounge.
During the competition, the runway will heat up with an on the spot twist. Designers will be given one additional piece of ArtPrize merchandise, and then have 15 minutes to create a new design in front of the live audience.
I am honored to be chosen to emcee both events on July 25, as well as the ArtPrize final designer competition in September. Join me as some of the most talented designers light up the stage for ArtPrize's first collaboration with fashion. It's history in the making that you won't want to miss.
