GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOOD) - Summer may be in full swing, but eightWest has Christmas in July in mind. Our crew gets to host The Art Van Santa Parade on November 23. Dating back to the late 1800's, The Art Van Santa Parade has kicked off the holiday season each year. Families from across West Michigan make an annual trip to downtown Grand Rapids to sit on the sidelines and watch the parade up close. The Grand Rapids Jaycee's Santa Parade Chairman Mike Pemberton and WOTV 4 Women's Carly Munoz share how your group can get involved and start getting creative!
"Music is in the air" is the theme of this year's Art Van Santa Parade . Contact email@example.com to have your marching band, ensemble or musical group perform live during the parade.
This year there is also a great new contest to help put a spotlight on local groups, companies, and non profit organizations in the West Michigan community. Here's how it works: Your organization, company, or community group can submit your "entry idea" to the Jaycee though emailing firstname.lastname@example.org July 9 through August 9. Judging entries will be based on creativity, originality, and inclusion of this year's theme "music is in the air". Winner will receive about $2,000 in prizes including free parade entry, a specially produced television segment featuring your community group/non-profit showcasing how you impact the community, and your group will be spotlighted during the live parade broadcast on WOOD TV8. Get creative and submit your entries now to email@example.com!
