GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - There is a big focus in West Michigan on all things artistic during ArtPrize, but the creative experience doesn't stop there. The art world of the Grand Rapids Art Museum is giving West Michigan a great opportunity to enjoy an exhibition that will leave the viewer asking questions and questioning answers. It's the newly-opened Real/Surreal Exhibition, organized by the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. Terri takes us inside for a Halloween tour!
The Real/Surreal Exhibition will be at the GRAM through the middle of January!, 2013. Check out our photo gallery of this exhibit by Michael Buck, too.
To compliment it, the GRAM has brought out works of art from its own permanent collection to create the exhibition Salvador Dalí's Twelve Tribes of Israel, which will also be up through January 13, 2013. Salvador Dalí, is one of the masters of European Surrealism and he created the Twelve Tribes of Israel portfolio in 1973 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel.
Just outside of both exhibitions is the ArtPrize 2012 winning entry " Elephants " by Adonna Khare, which will be on display through Thanksgiving.
