GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOOD) - When the midpoint of Summer comes around, it's time for kids to start thinking about going back to school. That usually means new shoes, school supplies, and clothes, but some kids aren't that lucky. In the Image joined eightWest to talk about their S.H.O.E.S. program . Since 1996, In The Image has worked to provide brand new back to school shoes for at-risk students in Grand Rapids elementary schools. Each year, they've helped over 6,000 students get a step in the right direction to start the new school year.
This year, In the Image is also reaching out to elementary schools in Wyoming and Kentwood. S.H.O.E.S. means Shoes Help Our Elementary Students , and, for a $13 donation, In the Image will give a new pair of shoes to a child in need. Their goal for 2013 is $170, 000 - that's 13,000 pairs of shoes! Make this possible by going to www.intheimage.org and donating now. Every dollar is appreciated.
In the Image also offers more opportunities to help kids and school districts in need. Adopt a child for $13, a classroom for $325, or even a school for as little as $3,000.
