GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - May 5 – 11 is Goodwill Week and it's a week that Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids wants to educate the community about the powerful impact of the organization.
While everyone knows Goodwill for their amazing bargains and hidden treasures, Goodwill's purpose is to help people locally prepare for, find and keep good jobs. Last year alone, Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids helped over 2,600 people with career services and placed over 800 into new jobs.
It is the revenue from their retail stores that go to fund these valuable programs. Goodwill is encouraging people to make a donation or shop at their stores during Goodwill Week. As a special incentive, the Goodwill Blue Boutiques are giving customers 25% off one item if you bring in a donation.
Goodwill Blue Boutiques are located at 40 Monroe Center NW and 974 Cherry Street SE. For a list of Goodwill locations in the greater Grand Rapids area visit www.goodwillgr.org.
Those receiving the 2013 White House holiday card will see a design made by a Grand Rapids artist.
