LONDON (AP) - Palace authorities say Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding will not be filmed in 3D because of the space needed for the format's cameras and relatively small demand.
Some British broadcasters had hoped to use the technology to televise the event, which is expected to draw a huge worldwide audience.
But Patrick Harrison, Prince Charles' press secretary, told the BBC, Sky News and other British broadcasters that the prince and his fiancee were consulted in the decision against having their April 29 wedding ceremony filmed in 3D.
He said Tuesday that authorities thought there was not enough space for additional cameras in the wedding venue, Westminster Abbey, and believed there is a relatively small audience for 3D television.
