CRAWFORD COUNTY, Pa. (NBC/WICU) - Pennsylvania authorities are investigating a bizarre crime after someone spray-painted two farm animals.

It happened throughout the weekend. And while there is no evidence the horse or goat were physically harmed, it's certainly a strange case of vandalism.

It has left the couple that owns the animals concerned and worried about people trespassing on their property in a normally quiet part of Crawford County.

Sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning, someone spray-painted Lilly, a 10-year-old mare, on the Schlabaugh farm. Her owners managed to wash and brush most of the paint off her coat.

Vandals also spray-painted the face of Josh, a 9-year-old goat.

Both animals were behind electrified fences, some distance from the road when the incident happened.

"It just feels like our privacy was invaded," said Tim Schlabaugh. "We don't expect this out in the country."

Several nearby mailboxes and a stop sign were also spray-painted, and state police are investigating the vandalism.
