ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - The Coast Guard has identified the two people who were shot and killed at a base on an island off Alaska's mainland.
According to a release from the Coast Guard, the victims were identified as Richard Belisle and Petty Officer 1st Class James Hopkins.
Officials identified Belisle as a retired Coast Guard chief petty officer working at the base as a civilian employee. Hopkins was an electronics technician.
Their bodies were found Thursday morning shortly after they would have arrived for work at a Kodiak Island communications station that monitors radio traffic from ships and planes.
The FBI is treating the case as a double homicide, and no arrests have been made.
