Chesterfield County, Va. (CNN) - A cyclist in a race in Virginia got a little closer to nature than he probably wanted.

Jeff Plassman says he was 15 minutes into his first lap of a Monster Cross race on Sunday when a deer ran in front of him.

Thanks to the camera mounted on his bike, you could see everything, collision and all.

Plassman got up and fixed his bike, then finished the three-hour race.

He says all he saw was fur, sky and ground.

According to Plassman, the deer appeared to be OK.

The rider got more than 400,000 hits on Youtube in the four days since he posted the clip and lots of comments on his Facebook page.
