GREENVILLE, S.C. (CNN/WSPA) - There's a lot of excitement and a new addition at South Carolina's Greenville Zoo.
Autumn, the zoo's Masai giraffe, gave birth to a baby Monday night.
The public has been a part of every step of the pregnancy, and close a million people have watched Autumn via Web cam. The birth was even streamed live online.
Zoo visitors will get the first chance to see the baby giraffe in person Wednesday.
"Not every place has the opportunity like we have, so it's really cool to be able to have followed it and see it in person," said zoo visitor Russ Chapman.
"To be able to have a giraffe birth here at the Greenville Zoo, kind of puts us on the map," said zoo worker Crystal Rose.
Zoo officials don't know yet if it's a baby boy or girl.
They'll find out Wednesday once they give the baby a physical.
