GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - All this week, 24 Hour News 8 has been showing you how Michigan Works! -- the agency that is supposed to help you find a job -- is trying something new with the Ready NOW! program.
Chris Glass of the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce sat down with "24 Hour News 8 Daybreak" to discuss how many of the 72 applicants have jobs from the three-day interview.
He also discussed what organizers learned and what could be in store for future Ready NOW! events.

So how can you get involved in a similar event? Organizer Mike Stock provided this statement Friday:
"At this point we don't have another specific ReadyNOW event scheduled for either Kent or Ottawa County. What our service center does have, however, is a workshop called Gear Up! Which is essentially the ReadyNOW curriculum scaled down to a few hours. It's a new workshop and we're just rolling it out. As we work out the details of it we're hoping to roll in employer participation just we do at the ReadyNOW events.
"Information on Gear Up! Can be found on our web site: www.miottawa.org/ocmwa – which is also where viewers can check to find any information on ReadyNOW anytime a new RN event is scheduled."
