FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) — The state gambling commission is hearing from advocates and opponents of extending an Indian tribe's exclusive right to develop a casino in southeastern Massachusetts. The commission met yesterday at Bristol Community College in Fall River as it considers opening the region to commercial bidders.

NEW YORK (AP) — Watertown-based Enanta Pharmaceuticals raised $56 million in an initial public offering of 4 million shares after the drug developer priced the stock at $14 per share, which was at the low end of its expected range. Shares started trading yesterday under the ticker symbol ENTA on the Nasdaq stock market. Shares closed up nearly 23 percent on the first day.

BOSTON (AP) — Film companies have been awarded $44 million in Massachusetts tax credits for projects shot in 2011, with nearly two-thirds of new spending generated by the productions going to out-of-state people and businesses, including many earning more than $1 million. That's a jump from the $18 million in film tax credits awarded in 2010.

BOSTON (AP) — The unemployment rate in Massachusetts dropped to 6.5 percent in February and the office of Labor and Workforce Development says the state has now regained all the jobs lost during the recession. Last month's jobless rate fell two-tenths of a percentage point from January and initial estimates showed a gain of 500 jobs in February.
