GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Many of you gave so generously last month to our Christmas in May campaign, donating at Spartan stores.

Those items are now on the shelves of food pantries throughout West Michigan.

Now, we are continuing the effort on an even more personal level.

We are taking the items that WOOD TV8 employees collected, boxing them up and giving them directly to individual families we personally know who are struggling.

One such family is the Robinsons in Kentwood. It has been tight the last year for them due to job loss.

We were able to bring them bags of diapers for their 9-month-old child, laundry soap, dish soap, and all kinds of household and personal care items to help them stretch their budget.

If you are looking for a way to help someone in trouble, consider dropping them a bag full of such items. If you don't want them to know whom it came from, then you can print off a tag explaining the campaign and leave it anonymous.

If you gave a bag or received one, then be sure to share your story with us.
