GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - People in one Grand Rapids apartment complex are stocking their shelves with items they received through the Your Money, Your Neighbor campaign.
"When you're a single parent, you have to do it by yourself, so when I seen (Your Turn), I was like, wow that's amazing," said Nicola Wade, a mother. "I can't believe that there are people that will open their hearts like that and just give something other than food."
An employee of WOOD TV dropped off the items for Wade.
You stocked the shelves of food pantries across West Michigan last month during the Christmas in May campaign.
Now, WOOD TV is continuing the effort, dropping off personal care items to people who are struggling.
It can be Your Turn, too.
If you're looking for a way to help your neighbors, consider putting together a box of items they usually can't get at a food pantry, and can never buy with food stamps, such as laundry detergent, dish and bar soap or toilet paper.
