GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - You can now go and pick up your Christmas in May items.
More than 68,000 items were collected for the WOOD TV8 Christmas in May campaign.
That comes out to 25 tons of toilet paper, toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, bar soap, dish soap, laundry detergent and diapers.
Our collection of these essential items, which food pantries have a tough time keeping on the shelves and food stamps won't buy, was a big success.
It was inspirational to meet so many people taking part in the campaign that wrapped up Wednesday.
