GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - An anonymous donor kicked in $5,000 for the WOOD TV8 Christmas in May campaign. So, how much does $5,000 buy?

Eva Aguirre Cooper went shopping, and was able to put $1000 worth of the needed items -- toothbrushes/toothpaste, laundry soap, deodorant, shampoo/conditioner, bar soap, diapers, dish soap and toilet paper -- into a van.

Now, look at this -- and multiply by five.

The Christmas in May campaign continues through May 19 with drop off points throughout West Michigan. On May 20, we'll take al your donations and deliver them to food banks and pantries to help your neighbors -- our neighbors -- with some essentials.
