GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - - As part of the ongoing 24 Hour News 8 series Your Money, a
representative from Michigan's Unemployment Insurance Agency will
answer
your questions.
When the Director of the UIA's Remote Initial Claims Center
in Grand Rapids appeared live on 24 Hour News 8 recently, more than
100 people sent in questions. Because of that overwhelming
response, we're bringing Sharon Moffett-Massey back. She's agreed
to come on 24 Hour News 8 at 5 on Tuesdays to answer your questions
live. She's also making sure a UIA representative contacts those
who email us questions.
When we followed up with people who sent in questions before,
we got an overwhelmingly positive response.
Heidi wrote in to say "within 3 days I received the 1300 dollars in back pay I was owed."
Dave emailed, "I thought the Unemployment Insurance Agency was very prompt and helpful related to my request through WOODTV."
And Tim wrote, "I must admit this was the best encounter I've ever had with a government agency."
To get your question answered,
email
it. Be sure to include a phone number and time you can be
reached, and we'll forward it to the Unemployment Insurance Agency.
Moffett-Massey also asks that you continue to try to reach
the UIA through its toll-free number 1-866-500-0017. You can also
file for benefits electronically by accessing MARVIN at the
Michigan UIA website, at
