ZEELAND, Mich. (WOOD) - One benefit of the auto industry recovering faster than experts predicted is auto suppliers, like Gentex, are profitable. And hiring.
In their company's annual earning report, Gentex reported its sales jumped 72% over the past year. Now, the Zeeland-based suppliere is looking to hire 300 people/
There are 200 slots open in production that pay between $10-13 per hour, and another 100 technical positions with comparable wages.
"In our production areas, we are interviewing about 100 people to find five or six that fit and work well in this environment," said Bruce Los, the VP of Human Resources for Gentex. "It's a very difficult complex environment that we work in, highly automated and the expectations for our production workforce is very high."
