COLDWATER, Mich. (WOOD) - A 35-year-old Union City man is accused of trying to kidnap two young girls from a McDonald's in Coldwater.
The attempted abduction of the 8-year-old girls happened around 5:30 p.m. Friday at the McDonald's restaurant on East Chicago Street in Coldwater.
But restaurant patrons stepped in, stopped the kidnapping and tried to detain the man. He was able to run away, but police found him shortly afterwards.
The children were not hurt.
The suspect is being held at the Branch County Jail.
