COVERT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - The Palisades nuclear power plant returned to service early Friday morning, synchronizing to the Michigan electric grid, after an outage occurred Feb. 15.
During the outage, workers repaired a component cooling water heat exchanger and replaced a damaged switch in the main generator motor-operated disconnect in the plant’s switchyard, according to a news release.
Plant operators will steadily increase reactor power levels to full power during the next several days.
The facility is located in Van Buren County's Covert Township.
