WOOD/WOTV/WXSP and Maranda know that many teachers use up to $500 per year of their own money to buy supplies for their classrooms. That’s why we are working together to support teachers. We are launching a program called “The Teacher Wish Lists”. It is our effort to promote classroom support by asking families and businesses to buy classroom supplies.

What is it?
It is a program to help fill some of the needs of current classrooms and give support to our educators. We will ask parents, businesses and supporters to help fill the classroom needs and purchase items for individual classroom.

How does it work?
Teachers in schools post their classroom needs on a central bulletin board at schools. These items are also posted on a website called www.TeacherWishLists.com .

Parents, community residents and businesses can check the school bulletin board or the website for what teachers need.

If you can purchase an item, please do so and bring it to the school.

If you have a question about the items, you can contact the teacher by using the link just above the list to "contact". Or, you can call the school and ask.

When does it start?
The campaign begins August 27, 2011 and runs until September 30, 2011.
