GR firm held annual commerical polling party

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - An estimated 110 to 115 million people tuned in to watch Super Bowl XLVI. But the game wasn't the highlight for everyone -- for many, the commercials were the main attraction.

A poll by the Hanon-McKendry Advertising and Consulting firm of Grand Rapids found that 55% of all American adults tuned in to watch the commercials just as much -- if not more -- as they tuned in to watch the game.

That number was even higher among women, who most advertisers focus on, at 66%.

This year, the Chrysler "Imported From Detroit" ad, which featured the voice of Grand Rapids resident Kevin Yon last year when it debuted, starred actor Clint Eastwood.

But was it one of the best?

Hanon-McKendry held its 9th Annual "Super Ad Poll" party on Sunday night for a host of experts and other guests.

Attendees voted to see if they could predict which would be the highest-ranked spots by consumers when the national polls come out are released Monday. Each voter cast a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" for every commercial during the game.

Would you agree with their top three choices?
