GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Hunter Kemper was a first-time Olympian during the Summer Games in 2000. Now, ready for the London Games in 2012, the 36-year-old triathlete is still in search of his first Olympic medal.
But, he is one of only three triathletes in the world to compete in all four Olympics in which the triathlon has been in. The others are Canada's Simon Whitfield and Germany's Anja Dittmer.
Kemper qualified for his fourth Olympic team on May 12 when he finished fifth in the ITU World Triathlon San Diego, crossing the line in 1:49:17.

=====
Kemper competed in his third straight Olympics in 2008. And he is getting better with age. In 2000, 2004 and 2008 Games, Kemper finished as the top American male, at number 17 overall in Sydney, number nine overall in Athens and number seven overall in Beijing.
In the spring of 2007, he became the first-ever triathlete to be featured on the cover of a Wheaties box.
Though he's not from West Michigan, his wife is -- and this area is a big part of him. He's not sure what he wants to do in his post-Olympics life, though public speaking is one option.
But he wants to make sure this Olympics -- his last one -- will be memorable.
