Participants register for the 5/3 River Bank Run at DeVos Place (May 11, 2012)

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Preparations for Saturday's Fifth Third River Bank Run are underway in downtown Grand Rapids.
The event features the country's largest 25K road race, as well as a 10K run, 5K run and 5K walk, with more than 21,000 participants.
Organizers of the 35th annual event are expecting about 60,000 people to be in the area, which includes spectators.
Some of the preparations include road closures that begin Friday --
Late registration will be available Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at DeVos Place.
That is the same time and place that racers can pick up their packets, as well as beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday.
