ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WOOD) - Over the next two weeks, a number of high-profile Olympic sports including track and field, gymnastics and swimming will hold trials to see who the United States will send to London for the Summer 2012 games.

One of the swimmers heading to the trials in Omaha, Neb. is former Grandville prep Mike Wynalda.

24 Hour News 8 caught up with Wynalda at Canham Natatorium in Ann Arbor on Tuesday.

He just finished his sophomore year at the University of Michigan, where he won Big Ten championships in the 200 free and the 800 free relay.

Wynalda qualified for the trials in two events: The 100 and 200 free. That means he'll be up against some of the biggest names in swimming like Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte.

He talked with 24 Hour News 8 about what he'll have to do to make it to London.
