The first time 24 Hour News 8 met Mike Kooreman, he was skating with his father and the West Michigan Speedskating Club in 1990.
Like his father, Kooreman developed a passion for the sport. Like his father, he was fast enough to qualify for the Olympic trials. Like his father, the Olympic dream never came to fruition.
Until he became a coach.
