INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Pacers have scored a runaway victory against the Detroit Pistons for their third straight win. David West scored 18 points, George Hill had 15 and the Pacers kept surging with a 114-82 victory. The Pacers grabbed control with a 14-4 run at the start of the second quarter. Will Bynum scored 17 points for the stumbling Pistons.

DETROIT (AP) —Detroit Red Wings left-winger Jan Mursak could have a new team by noon today. The Red Wings put him on waivers, giving teams the option of claiming him. The Yugoslavia-born Mursak has played in only two games for Detroit this season. He had a goal and two assists in 25 games in 2011-12.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — There's no Big Ten trophy on the line this time, but still plenty of stakes today when the 18th-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes host the No. 4 ranked Michigan State Spartans. Tom Izzo's team needs a win to remain within reach of top-ranked Indiana. The Buckeyes are trying to cement a first-round bye in the Big Ten Tournament.

DETROIT (AP) — It's a guilty verdict for two men in the2011 shooting death of Wayne State football player Cortez Smith outside a Detroit night club. A jury yesterday convicted Quintin King of first-degree murder and six counts of assault with intent to murder. Anton Blevins was convicted of second-degree murder and six counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm. Sentencing is scheduled for March 12.
